Hacker News is reporting that the US government is now looking into reports that Russian oil spilled into the Houston Ship Channel and that the spill caused the deaths of seven Texans.

It’s not clear yet whether the spill was caused by human error or whether the oil was deliberately dumped into the water.

The US Environmental Protection Agency is conducting an investigation into the leak.

The Texas Department of State Health Services said it was working to identify the cause of the spill.

It was the third oil spill at a refineries in Texas in recent weeks, according to the Associated Press.

It came as the US Coast Guard began its own investigation into an oil spill off the coast of North Carolina earlier this week.

It is unclear how long the investigation will take.

US President Donald Trump said on Friday that his administration is “going to look at” the Russian oil scandal, a reference to the incident in which Russian President Vladimir Putin is accused of using an offshore oil rig to attack a Ukrainian ship, which he claimed had violated international law.

In a statement, the US State Department said it is aware of the incident.

“US officials have been in contact with the authorities in Russia and the Russian authorities have made it clear that they are fully cooperating with the US authorities and the Department of Energy in their investigation,” the statement said.

It added that the Department “remains in contact directly with the Russian Government” about the incident and that US officials “are deeply concerned by the recent events”.
